This is a live cross section from a 3D model with multiple unconformities and partial erosion of several formations.

This model shows the reconstruction of unconformities. Note that the missing layers of Paleozoic to the right were restored before the Hercynian unconformity. This restoration uses some erosion reconstruction tools in Trinity so that the model is geologically appropriate with basin geometry through time. Often basin models create geologically impossible fluctuations of the basement geometry when they reconstruct unconformities.
